WestCan RTK Correction Network

The WestCan RTK Correction Network is a series of reference base stations across Western Canada that provides data for Real-time Centimeter accuracies. Access to the network and delivery of data is via the internet to the rover GPS receiver through a digital modem or cell phone. The GPS receiver can access LMS’s multi frequency, multi constellation correction service that is designed to work with the latest generation of GNSS receivers as well as older GPS only equipment.

The establishment of the WestCan Network has many benefits, most importantly: ease of operation, reduced equipment costs and reduced operating costs. WestCan Network users have no need to set up a costly base station: requiring only a LMS WestCan Network Subscription, rover data collector and Web-enabled cell phone, users simply activate their receiver, connect to the WestCan Network and start recieving GPS corrections immediately. These GNSS Base stations allow Real-time Centimeter accuracies within an expansive 25 km radius of the WestCan Reference Stations!!

We currently have 18 GNSS Base Stations in the following locations:

Victoria, Vancouver, Maple Ridge BC, Kelowna, Edmonton (3), Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray, Red Deer, Clive,  Calgary (2), Airdrie, Medicine Hat, Moose Jaw, Winnipeg, Steinbach MB,

Future installations are planned for the following locations:

Okotoks, Cochrane, Strathmore, Ponoka, Lethbridge, Surrey BC, Kamloops, Vernon, Penticton, Nanaimo BC, Saskatoon & Regina SK, Gimli, Pine Falls, Portage la Prairie MB
