Technical Support Representative

Land Measurement Systems is currently seeking a Technical Support Representative to work out of one of our branch offices (Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver & Winnipeg). You will be responsible for providing technical customer support to LMS’s internal and external customers by responding to queries pertaining to the equipment and software that LMS sells, rents and services.

Description: Duties will include responding to enquiries via email, fax, phone or in person on a timely basis. You will troubleshoot, analyze and provide solutions to customer problems. You must be able to create technical information and solutions for the internal and external customers.This is a very demanding position and we are looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual able to work in the team environment and also possess the ability to work alone with little or no supervision.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Post-secondary education in Land Survey or Geomatics is mandatory
  • Finely tuned customer service skills
  • Minimum 1 years field experience with GPS and/or survey equipment
  • Familiar with Windows and Windows CE operating systems
  • High diagnostic, analytical and creative skills
  • Self-disciplined, highly organized with the ability to multi-task and change directions quickly

Electronic Service Technician

LMS Land Measurement Systems Inc. is currently seeking an Electronic Service Technician to work out of our Calgary office. You will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair and estimation of optical mechanical and electronic instruments as it pertains to the construction and surveying industries as well as some GPS receivers.

Description:

Duties will include troubleshooting equipment, providing estimates to customers, bench work and calibration of instruments. You will update the service tracking, repair and parts databases and maintain records.

This is a very demanding position and we are looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual able to work in a team environment as well as think outside the box and also possess the ability to work alone with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Post secondary education in electronics and two years related industry experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electronics and associated diagnostic repair equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Understanding of computer hardware and how it relates to interfacing with both DOS and Window based environments.
  • Strong diagnostic and analytical skills.
  • Familiar with Windows operating system.
  • Self-disciplined, highly organized, detail oriented with the ability to multitask.
  • You must understand and be able to apply quality assurance practices.
